Since the Downtown Development Action Plan (Downtown Now) was adopted in 1999, over $5 billion dollars have been invested in a remarkably diverse portfolio of projects throughout Downtown, St. Louis. From major projects like the Busch Stadium, Lumiere Place and Citygarden to over 100 historic renovations that now house hotels, lofts, offices and retail, there is a new spirit in Downtown, St. Louis. Nearly $60 million in new development occurred in Downtown during 2013. To further prove that the area is emerging from the recent economic downturn, over $800 million worth of development is either under construction or planned for the next two years. Just as the Downtown Now Plan created a framework for the success of the past ten years, Downtown Next,The 2020 Vision for Downtown, St. Louis will serve as a blueprint for growth over the next ten years.
