Downtown's Parties on the Plaza

The free outdoor concert series, Parties on the Plaza, continues every 2nd Thursday of the month through September. The networking event, presented by Laclede Gas, is held at the Old Post Office Plaza, 8th & Locust, from 5-8 pm. Plan to bring your co-workers, neighbors and friends to enjoy the following acts: July 14-Hollywood 5, August 11-Jake Austin & The City Limits and September 8-Well Hungarians. Food and drink provided by Lumière Place Casino and Hotels and River City Casino. Update on Downtown's Progress
The sixteen-page 2011 Downtown Progress Report included in the A-List July issue of St. Louis Magazine was unveiled at our Annual Meeting last week. The special section, inserted into over 55,000 copies of the magazine, will also be distributed at the A-List party and downloadable from our website. Pocket-Friendly Events Calendar

The Downtown St. Louis Community Improvement District (CID) has produced a Downtown Events Calendar, featuring all the major events happening in Downtown St. Louis. This mid-year, pocket-sized publication includes Downtown events from June through year’s end. Downtown-wide Happy Hour

The Downtown CID and Alive Magazine invite you to participate in the Downtown-wide happy hour, Wednesday Night Out. The event continues through August from 5-7 pm every Wednesday night. Over twenty participating Downtown bars and restaurants offer $4 signature cocktails, $3 wines, $2 beers and half-priced appetizers as part of the promotion. Downtown Restaurant Week

The wildly successful Downtown Restaurant Week, that supports Operation Food Search, will be held August 22-28. Over 25 of Downtown's finest dining establishments will offer a special three-course dinner promotion for a fixed price of $25 per person, plus tax and tip. There are no passes to buy, coupons to carry or cards to punch. Patrons simply attend the participating restaurant of their choice and mention the Downtown Restaurant Week promotion. Last year’s event attracted over 20,000 diners. Mid July, participating restaurants and menu choices will be posted here

Citygarden Goes Pink
Citygarden will mark its second anniversary with the 2nd Annual Fabulous Flamingo Festival, a celebration of all things pink, on July 16 from 2-4 pm. The event will be held on 9th Street between Market & Chestnut and feature a Costume Parade at 2:30 pm, costume contest & prizes, live music, stilt walkers, pink edible delights and family fun.
