St. Louis
Union Station will celebrate the holiday season with the return
of holiday décor on the front of the Station. Last year due
to the $12.5 million restoration project, scaffolding completely
covered the front of this majestic Landmark making it impossible
to place holiday décor on the Head House exterior.
St. Louis Union Station also
announces the expansion of the Memories Museum this holiday
season. The expansion will feature artist drawings from the late
1940's/early 1950's depicting people waiting for trains, a
salute to the red caps that assisted millions of visitors as
they traveled through St. Louis, a collection of railroad
memorabilia from the Museum of Transportation and much more.

For several months now, The Downtown
St. Louis Partnership has been a partner with several other organizations in the "Project
Get Around" effort. The effort involves providing promotional
and outreach support for businesses, restaurants, cultural,
educational and entertainment attractions impacted by the I-64
reconstruction project. The main focus of the group has been to
launch a multi functional website, www.getaroundstl.com, that
helps visitors and St. Louis residents get around during
construction.
As of
November 15th the website has launched and is being
positioned as St. Louis' official one-stop resource for
information on where to go, what to do and how to get there
during the construction project. It will include up to date
information on road closings, traffic flow and news on St. Louis
area events. Businesses that would like to be featured on the
website can register (at no cost) by sending your information to
info@GetAroundStL.com
or visiting the website directly.
Additional partners in this joint initiative are
